The story
The Loveseat was conceived as an object of quiet presence — grounded, sculptural, and instinctively soft.
Its form draws inspiration from the naturally rounded shapes found along the shoreline, where time and movement smooth each surface into something effortless. This same sense of calm informed every decision, resulting in a piece defined by continuous curves and the absence of hard edges. It sits within a space not as furniture alone, but as a considered, architectural element.
To achieve this level of softness in form, each piece begins as a series of individually handcrafted wooden structures, carefully built and crafted by hand. These layers create the underlying geometry, allowing complete control over proportion, weight, and silhouette. The form is then meticulously coated in microcement — applied, sanded, and polished through multiple stages — to achieve a seamless mineral surface.
This process demands both precision and restraint. There are no shortcuts in the making. Each curve is resolved by hand, each surface refined until the material feels both natural and deliberate. The result is a finish that carries the depth and texture of raw material, balanced with a quiet sophistication.
The Loveseat was first presented as a feature piece at Decorex International, where it formed part of a wider exploration into light, material, and atmosphere. It has since been described as “the most exquisite concrete work I have ever seen” — a reflection of the care and craftsmanship embedded in its making.
This is a unique product that will only be produced once. It is a piece shaped slowly, through process and material, designed to bring a sense of permanence, softness, and calm into the home.
